 Reflections of My Heart

My Time
 




I go to the garden
for it is there I can walk
in peace and solitude...
where I do not have to talk

I sit amoung the beauty
of God's creation
it is here that offers me
my time of medation

I sit upon my favorite bench
with book and coffee in hand
I bow my head and give thanks
for this day so grand.

I sit and watch the sun make
its first appearance each day
Oh it is so brash and brazen
with its awesome color display

I hear the birds awaken
by their cheerful cries
Smell the aroma of the sleeping
flowers as they begin to rise

Its the early morning hours
that is my time of the day
when the Lord and I
come together to pray.

I sigh as I once again realize
my time here is up
I collect the unopened book
and empty coffee cup.

As I rise to go back to the reality
of the harshness of this land
I do so with peace, for this morning
I walked with the Lord hand in hand.
 
This is my time
This is God's time
This is our time together.
