Just Beyond
 
I know you are there
I sense your presence
I feel your eyes piercing
with my every move and essence
Your face is burned
into my very soul
you won't take me down,
my survival is my goal
I feel as though mirrors
occupy my every space
every place I turn
I see your lurking face.
There is always
this smothering mist
as though the end
does not exist.
You are like
a poisonous lizard,
and your protector is
nothing more than a buzzard
Who sits upon a limb
as tho it be a throne
just waiting to pick
the innocents bones
I feel you closing in
with an erie thud
I try to escape but it's as tho
my feet are stuck in mud
I attempt to run
to find my escape
but the evilness engulfs
like a heavy black drape
Just know God is my strength
and guiding shepherd
with him at my side
I shall remain centered
He has showered me
with a love so pure
and will give strength
to help me endure
So to His hand
I hold on tight
and wait for the end
to this evil plight
