SHHhhhh!

Don't Say A Word

Are you sure you want it all to end
Do you really want them
to walk out the door
Are you sure you can
look them in the eye
and say that you no longer
want them in your life
Shhhh ...
Don't say a word
Until you're sure

Examine your heart
before it is to late
Do not let past mistakes
tarnish what could be
For they are in the past
and to love again
does not mean
they are repeated
Shhhh ...
Don't say a word
Until you're sure

Who am I to tell you
But, have you tried
to swallow your pride
Can you look them in the eye
and truly convey that your heart
is absent of all love for them
that you don't need them
and you want them to go
Shhhh ...
Don't say a word
Until you're sure

Reassure them with a kiss
because this could be
your only chance to
show your heart.
Shhhh ...
Don't say a word
Until you're sure

You have suffered a broken heart
at the hand of another
but could it be because
you didn't reveal your heart
Learn your lesson
Don't let past mistakes be repeated
Every night before you close your eyes
Look at your chosen love and ask yourself ...
Did you tell them that you love them
Need them
That you never want them to go
and seal it with a kiss ...
They may never know
But please
Shhhh ...
Don't say a word
Until you're sure
