There’s a mouse in my house and I can’t get it out,
It comes out at night and runs all about;
I bought a trap and baited it with cheese,
But it tripped the trap and lifted the cheese with ease;
I placed poison in cupboards and all along the floor,
Seems poison’s the one thing it doesn’t hunger for;
I brought in a cat to get rid of the pest,
But after a few tries the cat decided to rest;
Sometimes I hear the varmint inside the wall
Scratching and nibbling, just having a ball!
Whenever I see it, killing it is my goal,
But it runs fast as lightning back to its hole;
Now it’s gotten so bold as to show up during the day,
Not just to hunt food but to frolic and play;
I’m tired of being outsmarted by this genius, this little mouse,
Maybe I should just name it and welcome it to the house.
