Poetic Verses
Don't Let Baby Grow Up Too Fast
Last night as I
looked into your eyes
I fondly remembered
your infant cries
and baby shoes
and a frilly dress
and those crayons
What A Mess
on the wall
colors collide
and a motherly tap
on your backside
Sticky hands,
peanut butter and jelly
nonsense words,
"melly shelly",
school day jitters,
anxiety attacks,
star covered walls,
with tape not tacks,
late night cappuccino,
hanging on the phone,
attitude you gave
in a superior tone
Then Graduation day
left no regret
Am I proud
Oh, You Bet
But tomorrow's upon you
in the blink of an eye
You're an adult I tell myself,
with a sigh,
With impending delivery
I want to say, last,
Don't let baby
grow up too fast

For Anna and Baby
looked into your eyes
I fondly remembered
your infant cries
and baby shoes
and a frilly dress
and those crayons
What A Mess

colors collide
and a motherly tap
on your backside
Sticky hands,
