WHERE OTHERS FEAR TO TREAD

It started with a promise to Abram long ago
good land of plenty, where milk and honey flow
on the journey, they crossed the Sea of Red
full of faith, his people went, where others fear to tread.

Travels were not easy, hardships in each hour
remaining in their faith towards a Divine Power
finding the land of promise, exactly as God said
they stepped on land unknown, where others fear to tread

Our Forefathers, much like they, had promise of new land
crossed the foaming sea in hopes of freedom planned
their journey also tested for freedom they had bled
throughout the land trodding, where others fear to tread.

Our Nation grew from wilderness, wars on land and sea
A government for the people in pursuit of Liberty
words for freedom and justice, quickly spread
faith and hope led the people, where others fear to tread.

A human laid upon the ground, was he somebody's prey?
no one knew,no one cared, they chose to turn away
A person with loving heart, gave help with food and bed
do you turn or dare to walk, where others fear to tread.

The guidance of Almighty regulates our destiny
this "One Nation Under God" was always meant to be
we in turn reach out to those from terror, live in dread
help their plight,to win the fight where others fear to tread.
