The Creation Of  Man

Soft breezes blowing, in a garden so fair
God called forth angels, they met with him there
Let's make man in our image, from this dusty-clay
I'll give him a free-will to love and obey.

He rolled up his sleeves, knees bent to the ground
the host were all watching, there wasn't a sound.
Tears flowed from the eyes of our Lord that day
as he tenderly formed, molding man from the clay.

Slowly, his hands worked in meticulous care
a masterpiece wonder of masculine fair
breathe in man's nostrils, then stood to his feet.
finished, he wispered, creation complete.

the Angels were joyous, they saw God's delight
that all he created was good in his sight
tears, said an angel, what were they for?
the free-will of man, that loves me no more.
