THOUGHTS OF ONE TURNING TWENTY-ONE
Oh, no! My youth at last is done,
At twenty-one, my old age has begun!
I can't blame my mistakes on innocent youth;
At my new age, I should know the truth.
Every day, as I go here, there, and everywhere,
I will look for wrinkles and gray hair,
I'm old enough to be served, so they think,
Now that it's legal, will I drink?
Maybe my lifespan is about one-quarter done,
Now that my adulthood has just begun,
But I can't change my age now that I'm 21,
So I plan 365 day of LOTS OF FUN!
