Old age shall never find me, I swore in my golden youth
I shall always be young, never be called, "long in tooth"
I will dance into my eighties and life would always be a ball
Maybe some distinguished gray hair; it wouldn't bother me at all
Old age is definitely for others of that I had made up my mind
I would always be patient with my elderly friends and treat them oh so kind
Some folks just don't have the stamina to be forever young, tis so sad
I would pat them on the head and tell them, "old age is not so bad"
But alas, one sunny day, a break from the garden I would take
And the strangest thing did happen; I couldn't arise for heaven sake
While sitting so innocently under shade of a blooming apple tree
Old age not only found this "young" man, but darn it all, he sat on me
Now I have changed my way of thinking, of that you may be sure
It seems now old age really isn't so bad that you can't endure
But next time you're having trouble getting up and out of bed
Be sure to recall that old saying of mine, "old age is all in your head"
