GHOST

Beyond the realm of reason, where loathsome dark abides.
Captive souls of death depart, forced to the other side.

Their demise was so untimely, fate had snatched them on demand,
in anguish they keep searching, thru that strange tormented land.

Confused, they plead and beckon, alone they search in vain,
from photographic memories, etched on a different plane.

Do you hear that distant calling? See the mist that floats around.
They are doomed in time to wander, desired rest that can't be found.

Hungry to communicate, thru footsteps in the hall.
Lights that dim and flicker, darting shadows on a wall.

Tugged-on covers in the bedroom, objects glide across mid-air,
appliances turn on and off, to let you know they're there.

Hear that ghastly moaning, it's a dreadful, lonely cry,
gives an icy, bone-chilled feeling, when ghosts go wisping by.
