The Long Road Home…

It's been a long and lonely road,
And mostly all uphill,
Something I had to work for,
To climb that steepest hill!

I walked the roads in solitude,
Silently I wearily walked the land,
Wearily plodding forward,
Taking the task to hand!

Determined in my mind,
This road would come to an end,
And now that day has arrived…
Peace will become my friend!

The long road home…
Was full of twists and bends,
I was left alone…and lonely,
And without any friends

But I journeyed onwards and forwards,
Looked ahead and never back…
Strived for my goal, to make my life whole,
And I did it!  I came all the way back!
