When The Heart Hurts…We get hurt along the path of life, But never should we give in, Always stay on the bright side, And that way, we always win. When the heart hurts, as it will, And when the pain is so deep… That's when nothing seems real, And when sadness will silently creep… Creep into the heart and mind, Settle in the soul, Create a pain as wide as a crater, And make us not feel whole. When the heart hurts like this, And when the pain is so strong, So that all we see is sadness… When its happiness for which we long! That's when we start to turn it around, Turn the bad into the good… Lose the hurt and pain that's there, Make life happy, as you know you should! So never look over your shoulder, To see what you've left behind, For all you will see is the hurt, When really, its peace you need to find. Always remember on your shoulder… There sits an angel so still… Silently helping and guiding you… As you climb the steepest hill. So lean on me for a while, I will be a pillar of strength for you, Until the day finally dawns…! That you realise what you have come through!
