If We Could...
I would like nothing better than to hold you
caress every part of you, we would remember why we fell so hard
if we could we would but that will never be
all the times we hurt each other wish we could erase
oh how I wish at the end of every day
it could be me to put a smile on your face
if we could but we just can't
I would love to make everything that caused you pain disappear
but if that was to come true
sadly I would have to go too...
I dreamed so many times a miracle would happen
but so far a stalemate
we are each in relationships neither willing to upset
the apple cart, I guess our beds can hold our second choices near us
until we go no longer go on and get sick to our stomachs
the charade continues, the cat and mouse previews
of a real life soap opera that hasn't decided an ending
go with our hearts or keep pretending?
why keep it intriguing when you know what you want
well maybe we do but then again maybe we don't
If we could decided so easily why are we in tangled
with other parties? a mere bump in the road....
or just a long painful goodbye toast?
If we could just figure it out
than everyone would be relieved to know....
