Once upon a time a man
And his word meant something,
A promise given spoken was sacred,
He saw it through thick and thins!
His values and morals
How he treated others
Is what mattered,
Those he cherished and loved
Didn't need to question
His motives!
He walked the walk
More then talked
You could count on him,
Respect he earned wasn't handed
By how much fame and fortune he had,
Strength was weigh by character!
Not how much he pump and lifted in the gym,
Or how many women he lay the night before last!
Then it took a real man if he held on to one
And stood by the promises he made,
How those days seems so long ago
When a man and his word was sacred
Vows he made in his heart soul were forever
In graved!
His hands were rough his heart endured
Always his pride was in the right place,
Like my grandpa's seed past on to my dad
who carried on with pride the family name,
Now so close yet so far gone seems in our days
Nothing more then tales of the past.
