How Do I Tell You?
How do I tell you
what's going on?
I don't know
what to say,
your dad is sick
and he needs us right now.
We have to tell him
exactly how we feel,
because after a while,
he won't be able to talk.
His face is becoming paralised,
his tongue is numb,
he can't taste his food,
he might have had
a stroke in his sleep.
I know you are scared,
but we have to keep the family
together for him,
we have to stay strong.
How do I tell you,
without falling apart?

This is what I would tell my kids, if I weren't scared to fall apart in front of them.
