Heart Of The Matter

In Sleep

I think about you in the morning,
As the sun comes to rest on your face,
It welcomes you back with it's dawning,
You've returned from your own secret place.

A place where you're free from all worry,
Where no one can hurt or chastise,
A place where there's no need to hurry,
And no tears will descend from your eyes.

A place where you'll be, where you want to,
Time and distance a meaningless phrase,
A place where love will surround you,
And you float in a lilac, blue haze.

A place where you never feel hunger,
Your thirst will be quenched in the dew,
A place where you'll find gentle healing,
And the knowledge, I'm right there with you.

And when you come back in the morning,
To face what the new day will bring,
I'll come to your mind, without warning,
For this love; is a beautiful thing.
