Heart Of The Matter
Watching Dawn Breaking
An early night is called for,
I'll try this once again,
To lay me down to sleep now,
De-activate my brain.
I'll try to banish sadness,
Think happy thoughts again,
It only brings you back to me,
The tears; to fall again.
And still therein the darkness,
The scent of silence looms,
Outside the storm is raging,
Will this be over soon?
Inside, my heart is aching,
A bitter-sweet refrain,
And watching dawn breaking,
You come to me again.
I'll try this once again,
To lay me down to sleep now,
De-activate my brain.
I'll try to banish sadness,
Think happy thoughts again,
It only brings you back to me,
The tears; to fall again.
And still therein the darkness,
The scent of silence looms,
Outside the storm is raging,
Will this be over soon?
Inside, my heart is aching,
A bitter-sweet refrain,
And watching dawn breaking,
You come to me again.
