On a Sunday afternoon
YOU entered the world,
and it hasn't been the same since.
You stole my heart in that first
moment that you stared at me so
intensely. You were a beautiful child,
never a problem, (you saved all of them for your teenage years) and what joy it was
to watch you grow.....
and to watch you learn.......
Happy Birthday to my baby !!!
(Even tho you're 39 today)
To me you will always be my baby !!!
I'll always love you in that same, sweet way
As the first time I laid eyes on you !!!
Your eyes were large, and oh, so blue !!!
I vowed then to protect you always,
Keep you safe from harm, it's true.
When you were small, it was so easy
To keep you warm, and safe, and fed.
But as you grew, it made me queasy,
There is so much that fills my heart with dread.
Prayer for you has been the answer !!!
As you step forward on your way,
I can't be there to keep harm from you,
But I can pray for you, day by day.
And the Lord, Who loves you dearly,
And gently laid you in my care,
Will guide you through each path you enter,
If you'll just say a little prayer.
We've struggled through some pains and sorrows,
Sharing them made it easier for us to bare,
Always knowing you were beside me,
Distance makes no difference there.
We also have shared momentous triumphs !!!
Katy's birth would be the top !!!
For now you know, without my telling,
My love for you will NEVER stop.
So please enjoy your birthday baby !!!
Feel the sun warm on your face,
And let the breeze whisper gently to you,
Your Mother's Love......
