...The Wonder Within…It was a sunny afternoon this day, My friend and I were off to pray. In a special ceremony a special Mass, To praise our God – worshipers, by the mass! Two baldy heads, we went inside, We took our places, no need to hide! There we were on show, for all to see, But I wasn't self conscious…I was ‘just me!' People flocked in from all walks of life, All with their own – personal strife! Smiles and nods throughout that day, For yes, we were all there especially to pray. It was a special time, for us all you see, We were basically all ill…and in need if He! Everyone was sad but elated to! We needed His strength to do what we had to do! We had all been through such trials and pain, But still we pray to God, again and again! For He is the one who most understands, How we are feeling, when it's out of our hands! We are at His mercy we all know that's true, And no-one knows what we have to do… Do we ask for help from Him above…? Or accept our fate, and leave it to God? For no matter what or how we feel, Even when it doesn't seem real… It's God who holds our life in his hand, And all we can do is pray that we can understand. For really there is nothing we can do or say, To make us remain just one more day. Because the life we were dealt came from God above, Now all we can do is offer our love. The feeling I felt that wonderful day, Entered my heart, and came to stay! Filled with a warmth, from I know not where, All I know is I had the feeling He was there! I looked around at the congregation… All joined as one, for this unification. All with hope in our hearts so true, In the hands of God, both me and you! As serenity sets inside my soul...! I give thanks to God…for making me whole… For the wonder of that glorious day…! Brought a feeling of warmth, forever to stay! I can't describe what it was I felt… As at the alter - before God I knelt. It was a wonderful feeling so sublime… And from then on, peace became mine. Whatever the outcome, come what may, I thanked my God for my life that day! He's a wonderful man, all knowing and forgiving, He's what makes our lives so worth living. And as I look back to that brilliant day…! I remember the people, for whom I so pray. Some survived some didn't…so you see! I thank my God above, for sparing me! For spare me He did and I don't know why, But I always thank Him when I raise my eyes high! To have one brain tumour I'm luckily to survive…! But I had two – yet I am still alive! So for me He has a plan that I can't see… But it will come to pass, for one day He'll tell me. I look to the Heavens, where it is he resides… This God Almighty, this God so wise! And say; ‘thank you for my life, for this is true,' ‘I am only here today, simply because of you!' ...This God Almighty... ...This God So Wise... Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
