True Story---Getting to know karen

After "Living and Loving It" for 62 years, I guess the easiest thing for me to say is "Been there--Done that".  LOL
Seriously though, there's a lot of things I'd like to tell you, but it would take a book.  So, I'll just start with the basics and fill them in overtime.
I was born and raised in Iowa, so you know I'm "corn-fed".  After graduating high school, I worked at the local telephone office for a while and got married (not the smartest thing I've done--the Wedding lasted longer than the marriage).  After that marriage broke up (6months) I decided to "Head West" and moved to Carson City, NV.  It was there I met my "British Gentleman" and married him a week later.
"Marry in haste, repent in leisure",
the saying goes; but I was quite happy for about seven years,
until I found out he was running around.
We separated and eventually divorced.  But he left me with the very best part of him--my daughter.  So, here I was, alone, scared, broke most of the time, with a young daughter and no reliable baby-sitter when I was working, so I moved back home.
Back to a quieter lifestyle and people and family that I loved.  Tracy (my daughter) was 7 when we moved back to Iowa.  She started school and graduated from the same school I had attended.  The difference was she was Valedictorian of her class, and I couldn't even spell it!
When Tracy was 11, I married the love of my entire life.  He was my everything.  We were so into each other, that words weren't necessary.  He could say more with a look than anyone I've ever met.
We were married for 10 years, 4 months and 4 hours.  And I cherish every one of those moments.
He died of Leukemia on December 18, 1986, and most of my world ended then too.
 I went into a
clinical depression and had to be hospitalized in August of 1987.  I worked in the Medical Records Department of our local hospital.
On April 15, 1990, Easter Sunday morning, I had a massive heart attack after failed balloon angioplasty and had to have coronary artery bypass surgery.  After recovering from that, I decided to go see the mountains one more time, so moved back to Carson City.  My daughter came to visit
me and met her husband.  So she moved to Sacramento, CA.  Their baby was born on my birthday.
BUT they wouldn't let me take her home with me-----so I moved in with them----and stayed almost 5 years.  That'll teach 'em!!!!
I moved back home to Iowa in September,2002, and live in a small town, and I love it.
Following a series of strokes, I suffer from "Swiss-cheese brain"  and have lost some memories.
BUT you sure couldn't tell it by the size of this tome.
I Love the Lord, and my life is an open book, what I can remember of it, so----any questions???
I'm glad to get to know you and share in our experiences.
Two things I know for sure:
Love is Eternal
God is in all the details of Love.

God Bless you,
and remember..........
You Are Loved

sincerely,
karen
