Words of Life, Love and Praise
The One
The very essence of love from the day he was born
From many miles, the wise ones came.
Gifts of special meaning more than worth,
These prized offerings to the infant king.
Oh sweet beautiful babe, eyes shinning bright,
Were you aware even then how special was that night?
How your mother loved you, innocent little lamb
God's most precious gift, lay cooing at the touch of her hand.
Never before one such as you, nor ever be again
This selfless, gentle teacher, called “The Son of Man”.
Where would I be without you, for that matter, all man-kind?
Would we still be shrouded in darkness, knowing not this love sublime?
What you have given can never hope to be repaid,
Yet I thank you daily Lord, ever grateful to be saved.
