Words of Life, Love and Praise

My Forbidden

A sigh of relief for the coolness of the evening breeze
as it wafts gently through my cascading tresses,
the gentle sting on my cheeks brings a curl to these lips
such a delight, it feels so divinely delicious!

The trees wave gleefully to a star-lit sky above
As they try to entice a twinkle or two,
I walk under the cover of darkest night-
My thoughts you so completely consume.

Ah yes, my iron prince, must you plague me so?
What is it about you, your tone, your taunting–
Like a noose pulled tight about my heart,
What agony, devilishly sweet and forbidden!

Come to me, if you must-I could not stop you now,
You have made this flesh but a gaping wound-
This is not what I planned!  My life was set before me,
as a novel freshly printed and bound.

Why must I desire you so?

Must you ravage my heart against the will of my mind,
how without you could I now feel complete?
Are you my sin, my forbidden fruit –
Fail not my foolish heart, you still beat...you still beat.
