Words of Life, Love and Praise

The Gift

No love can compare to that which you gave,
for no heart among man be so true -
Nor selfless devotion nor merciful grace
Can be found in ANY other than You.

Knowing all along your lot in this place
You chose neither to run nor hide,
The Father laid out His masterful plan
and your perfect soul insist you abide.

I cannot fathom the pain you endured,
Nor begin to think I could –
But my tears flow as a torrent rain
By simply knowing that for me, you would.

You gave of yourself, your love, your time
You shared truth and paved the way,
that those who hunger and thirst may know -
Through you is the ONLY way.

What you have done, all that you gave
The ultimate sacrifice,
This, your “Gift” I hold close to my heart -
And by which, I live my life.
