What are you doing on the Fourth of July?
Will you be watching Fireworks fill the sky?
Sitting on the back of the bumper of a car,
Watching the rocket explode like a star?
Do you remember the "old-fashioned" days
When the whole town came out to celebrate !!!
Picnics and kid's games and teenagers parking,
Baseball games, bike rides, older folks "sparking".
The evening always ended with a fireworks display,
Flags waving, as we sang, and the school band played
America, America, God Shed His Grace on Thee.
And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea.
Oh, once again, could we turn back the days
To a time when we had less worries to raise
And Thank God for allowing us to be
In a land called America, Home of the Free.
