The Salt of the Earth

Matthew 5:12 & 13

Rejoice in today and be exceedingly glad,
There is no reason for you in feeling sad;
Great is your reward waiting in Heaven,
Prophets persecuted and sent to prison;
They are the pure in heart and see God,
Walking with Him down the promenade;
For we are truly the salt of the earth,
If salt looses its savor so also its worth.
The Lord has made this day to be joyful,
No need to be paranoid and sorrowful;
The Bank of Heaven holding a deposit,
In an open account with your name on it;
Lest we not forget our brothers in jail,
For loyalty to God that makes them wail;
For they as well as you are of the salt,
In the Law of God you have been taught;
But lured by sin it makes you corrode,
Not even worth using to salt an icy road;
Able to remain pure you are able to walk,
Along side of God having a nice long talk.
