Joyous Giving

2 Corinthians 9:7 & 8

Everyone has a true purpose in their heart,
Not a reluctant giver just willing to part;
God loves the cheerful giver able to give,
Able to make all grace abound and forgive;
Always having sufficiency as He will bless,
Abounding in all good work with success;
Ever been in church at time of the offering,
Someone acts as if the usher is bothering;
Grumbling while pulling out their wallet,
And only pulls out a dollar for to deposit;
Wondering was it really worth the feat,
The energy involved getting off the seat;
Pulling out of his pocket such a paltry sum,
Just barely pays for even a pack of gum;
To think of a poor woman giving just a tad,
Cheerfully given with everything she had;
It's not a matter of the amount of the gift,
As long as the giving is a genuine uplift;
No matter how much, joyous giving earns,
An abundance of dividends in your returns.
