I recently got a prayer request that absolutely tore at my heart strings. A dear friend has recently lost his "Godmother" who he adored, had another friend fighting a battle with cancer and was
hospitalized, and his Mom will have to undergo surgery in a few weeks with a 25% chance of a successful outcome. He is hurting and afraid, and feels like he is in a never-ending whirlpool. He asked for prayer, which was gladly given.
I'm trying now to find some way to comfort him
Perhaps this poem
will suffice....
Love is Loss
The greater the love we share,
The greater the loss we bare,
The loyalty that you portray
Will guard you all along the way,
The love that has been given you,
Is doubled, as it passes through
Your tender heart, Your gentle hand,
And now you try to understand,
And cannot bear the pain of loss,
Yet you'll survive: what'ere the cost.
Your heart will shed those unshed tears,
And you will remember, through all the years
The loves you've shared, the lives you've touched.
You will know that you have been loved so much.
Someday, when life on earth is done,
Your friends will meet you, one by one,
Oh what great joy !! beyond compare,
When you are greeted by your friends there,
and taken safely to the throne of God,
You will rejoice in every path you now must trod.
