Inland Letter
I saw the blue inland letter
On my writing desk
Flapping in the wind
Should I open the letter?
Should my heart brake?
Was it worth the pain?
We had parted long
Why the letter was posted
Should we start it all over again?
Tall trees waved in the wind
In the front rose garden.
My heart marked with wounds of flame
We never could learn to live
Lump in the throat, stain of tears
All died and frozen for years
Lost in a trance...
Ah! that was a paper knife
Was it in the drawer or stolen..
All of a sudden
Gusty wind blew my letter out
Of window in the open air
I was stunned for a moment
My senses crept in a while
I wept to let the letter go by.
