Words of Life, Love and Praise

For You  Dad~

Dad, I just wanted to say a few words
to tell you something you may not know...
My most treasured childhood memories
are those of you and I -
yes, I'm still a daddy's girl...
I remember a cold winters morn
as the dawn was about to debut
You found me awake and quietly came into my room,
and asked me to look out the window -
"tell me what you see"
I looked very hard
but could see only darkness.
We sat staring out that window
awaiting the first flickers of the sun -
again you asked "tell me what you see"
You had to still my excitement
as I was able to see the dawns offering...
a perfect blanket of white
as far as my little eyes could see.
I was all of 7 years that day
but that memory remains fresh even still
as my very adored daddy stopped to share
a desert snowfall one chilly winter morn...
There have been others since that day,
but that was my first and by far
this daddy's girls most treasured memory.

Happy Fathers Day Daddy!
