Heart Of The Matter

I Know A Place

I know a place,
Where time stands still,
The mist creeps over,
Yonder hill,
The water calm,
Upon the lake,
No task in hand,
To undertake.

I know a place,
Can I describe,
The peaceful scene,
Before my eyes,
The twinkling lights,
From yonder shore,
The sound of silence,
Now a roar.

I know a place,
With clear blue skies,
The ancient trees,
Stand tall beside,
The one track road,
Just sweeping round,
To lead me to,
The higher ground.

I know a place,
Where rabbits roam,
A place that foxes,
Call their home,
Majestic stags,
Descend the hills,
And loiter whilst,
I have my fill.

I know a place,
Not far from me,
Where man can let,
His spirit free,
And soaring high,
Above the rain,
He finds just who,
He is again.
