We look in horror
At what once was
Shaken in spirit
Trying to find a cause
Sights so devastating
No words can describe
Waiting for those in power
To react and proscribe
Seeing so many faces
Shaken in terror
Finding no way to comfort
The soul of the wearer
No way to digest
This horrific destruction
Not understanding how
We allowed this abduction
As our troops and allies
Begin to move shore-ward
As a nation of strength
We will move forward.
