That's So Raven

How sweetly did they float
upon the wings of silence,
through the empty-vaulted night,
At every fall smoothing
the raven-down of darkness
till it smiled.

Blackbird
slightly more elegant
and slightly more dangerous
than a common crow.

Bearer of light,
water, nurturer
and at the same time-
predator.

Dichotomy
of the raven-
mystical creature
of mythology.
She mates for life,
famed to be immortal,
love that never dies.

That is why they think
that you are evil.
Nobody understands
that which is too
beautiful, too pure,
too true.  Love
can't last forever.
Life can't be
eternal.

Raven,
with your dark good looks,
your feathers of midnight...
you brunette witch bird.
Fly away~for you are
too pretty, my sweet pet,
to ever be understood.
