…When I Look Back…When I look back just now I'm shocked, And surprised at all I achieved, For trust me true, it's been a haul, And I've been so aggrieved! My life hasn't exactly been an easy one, Throughout which I've had such strife, I've had pitfalls and many too, You could say I've had a varied life! But a life it is and no matter what, Whether good, indifferent or bad, I've had a life, still got a life, And for that I'm really glad! For in the blink of an eye, it's ended! Just like that over and done… So make it good, make it happy, And fill that life with fun! Now when I finally pass over, And when I'm hovering above… I will want to know I did my best, And know that my life was full of love! Compassionate honest and kind, Well, I like to think that's how I am, And of caring I have plenty to share, And I share it whenever I can… If I had a magic wand…! I would wave it all over the world, And sprinkle stardust over everyone, So that a life of happiness could be unfurled! Life is like a box of chocolates, Inside the wrapper is a surprise, Because every one is a different one, We never know what will bless our eyes. It could be seeing a happy bride and groom, Or the wonder of a baby's eyes, It could be the smile on a persons face, Or happy memories from one so wise! But looking back shouldn't always be sad, Not sad in the way of hurt and pain, Happy thoughts and saddened thoughts… Are different - yet the same… So when I pass on and look back, I want to be happy with what I achieved, For the time will come to pass… That I will no longer feel aggrieved! And when that day arrives… I will finally know much peace… For all my hurt and pain will be ended, In the blink of an eye…release! But until then I will stay strong and focused, As of course, only I can do! And so I will enjoy the rest of my life, I suggest you enjoy it too! When I look Back – I'll Be Smiling!
