THE UNHAPPY HOUR #2
Some stare in mute hushed desire,
Others talk of thirst for "waters of fire",
Mid-day watchers sit while thinking
Of their past love of drinking.
Some stare with hushed old desire,
In a burning thirst that won't expire,
Others speak in joyful words to praise
Their many, one-at-a-time sober days.
Some stare in sadly quiet desire,
While others are a noisy, loud choir,
But each watcher, one and all,
Well remembers his love of alcohol!
