Tethered
If I should weep in all my sorrow
Know that you will become my tears
Until pain is spent upon the morrow
And my eyes again find themselves endeared
If I should smile like the summer sun
A song of laughter you will be
Within your being rapture has begun
A time of days spent once more complete
If I should scream in angers wake
You will become a whisper soothing
As tremors will my tender body to ache
A whisp of hair you are gently smoothing
If my hands should reach out just to touch
Know that you will become a target marked
For I'm drawn to you like a resiliant light
I find I am tethered to your heart
