Somewhere in Nowhere

I never cried, I never begged
before I was born
to be, to always be
There I was, there I was not
Somewhere in nowhere
in emptiness, in voidness
And so it happened that here-
from so many planets-
I was born-
from a kiss, a dance, a roof-top
a love child
they call me-a happening
Why would I now cry to
go back because I'm lost
decayed-
Why would I now cry
to the eternal, the indifferent
The answer is here or
maybe beyond space and time-
You wanted to pick stars
from trees and roof-tops
They were farther, yes farther
The hand stopped at its ending
At the beginning of the faraway closeness
You'll hug the flower bulbs with your fingers
they'll bloom surprised toward you
they'll count the moments,
Smudged by the same moments
And then moments
will not belong to time
any longer
And the love of the songs
will destroy violins.
