PAST TIMES
I look back in time to my past,
Oh those days so long ago,
No worries troubles or strife,
Where children just dreams as the wife.
Children were happy not sad,
We had freedom and ever so glad,
I roamed over meadows and fields
Without fear of what it could yield.
Those long summer days in the sun,
Each hour just filled up with fun,
Walking for miles free from harm,
Every thing then was so calm.
Life was so peaceful back then,
You could always rely on a friend,
The door was open not shut,
It was not a question of luck.
I feel sorry for children today,
They dare not go fare out to play,
Our doors are now locked all shut tight,
And the future it does not look bright.
So here in my mind I escape,
Back in time when life was still great,
I know its not there any more,
But I’m safe locked behind my front door.
