Heart Of The Matter

A Sleepless Night

A sleepless night,
I watch the dawn,
Then doze awhile,
And wake late morn,
I fall and tumble,
From my bed,
Now I stumble,
Hit my head.

Have some coffee,
Feel the hit,
Drink it slowly,
While I sit,
Wasted morning,
Now mid day,
Wish the sun,
Would fade away.

Must get out,
Things to do,
Rather stay,
Think of you,
Soon to see you,
What to wear,
Wonder should,
I cut my hair.

Leave it down,
Or wear it up,
Rinse it out,
Coffee cup,
Have another,
Hot and sweet,
Ready then,
Hit the street.

Get some money,
Spend a few,
All this effort,
Just for you,
Best to eat now,
Have a bite,
Something missing,
Appetite.

Head for home,
Hit the hay,
Have a sleep now,
That’s the way,
Once I wake I’ll,
Feel much better,
Think I’ll send,
My love a letter.
