I Remember
Yes I remember, once upon a time
When I gave you my heart and you were mine
You were so sweet and loving too
Now I look back wondering what happened to you.
Together we did everything
Joined by more than a wedding ring,
My heart back then was so full of love
But these days it's just something I dream of.
You were my prince and I your queen
Now I don't even know what that means-
You insist your love for me is still true
Yet I wonder if it's just more a habit for you.
When we're together I feel so far away
Please give me just one good reason to stay.
I've tried to keep it together all these years,
counseling, praying and controlling my tears.
Where has my wonderful husband gone-
This guy here now, is not the same one.
I don't even know the man I now see
Though he does resemble the guy that married me,
I'm looking for that guy that brought such bliss…
