The Lord's my keeper as well as being yours,
He's watching over all and guards the doors;
The Lord is my shade upon my right hand,
So I can write my poetry from where I stand;
The sun shall not smite you during the day,
Nor the moon during the night in any way;
The Lord will be keeping you from all harm,
As He protects my soul from Satan's charm;
He preserves your going out and coming in,
From now on forever more saving from sin.
We are never alone in this world as we live,
If we have been saved asking Him to forgive;
God provides us the protection we need,
As He constantly gives warning to heed;
For he knows that Satan is full of deceit,
And would love to have you lie and cheat;
He keeps sun shine by day, moon by night,
His truth and His wisdom give us insight;
The keeper of my soul assures I am saved,
To be walking on streets of gold are paved.
