I Love You Always

Sometimes I lie awake at night
and stare at you while you are asleep,
I wonder if you really know why I love you
the way I do.

I think to myself and question
do you understand why I say, ‘I love you?'.

I love you when your right
and when your wrong.

I love you when you get mad
and pretend not to talk to me.

I love you when you ask me
to hold you and tell me that you love me.

I love it when you want to be everything
and anything to me.

I love when you try to beat me
in cute games that we play.

I love you because of who you are,
not what you think everyone thinks you are.

I love you because you are
what I need the most
and I am everything that you need and more.

And most of all I love you
because of everything that you do to
make me feel special and needed.

Sometimes I lie awake at night
and watch you while you are sleeping
and wonder do you know how much I love you.
And every morning when I awake
and you smile and kiss me . . .

I smile and think to myself
that maybe you do
and that is why I love you.
