My Pandora's Box!

If you try and lift the lid,
I'm afraid it won't do any good,
For the lid is firmly closed,
On this Pandora's Box of wood!

Locked away most safely,
With lots of hurtful things inside,
I can't open the lid, can't let them free,
So I have to make them hide!

This box is of little importance to others,
But of vital use for me!
For herein lies my pain and fears,
I can't open the lid for others to see!

So I keep my secrets safe,
And let them out little by little you see,
When in the quiet confines of my home,
Where only I can let them free!

The box over the years has become full,
There's no more room for anything to hide…
So I am trying, little by little,
To open the box up, free and wide!

But I can't, I just can't do it,
For there is far to much in there,
And not only that, but I have to say,
It's a little too much for me to bear!

But one day, yes, one day I will…
Open this box of my life and trials,
And on the day that this comes to pass,
My face will be full of smiles!

Then Pandora's Box can be taken away,
For no use will that be for me!
Because once it's opened up,
I will have finally set myself free!
