...I Walk That Walk Too...I walk that walk and wear those shoes, Just like you do, Sue, I have empathy and understanding, And I know what you're going through! But we can't shut out the world, Because solace must be sought! To carry us, help us to fight, When we feel there's no support! It's the hardest walk in the world Sue, And it weighs us so heavily down, We lose the smile from our heart, And walk around in constant frown. Sue, you have to stay focused, I walk that walk, you know I do, And you know this is not about... Me being any worse than you! I understand how desolate you are, Your pain is my pain to bear too, And that is why I'm not going away, No matter what you say or do! Because people who love and care, Don't walk away when things go bad! Instead, we stay and support, And help to cheer you when you're sad! I feel your every pain and sadness, And I know how desperate you are, For like I said, I walk that walk too, And at times it seems so very far! But we never stop walking that walk, We just learn to adjust and to grow, Because things for us can't really change, As both you and I know There are different severities of pain Sue, And ours is the hardest to bear, For we know it will never leave us, For it will always, always be there. But even if the sun shines brightly, And it's only now and again, That little bit of happiness, Helps us deal with our pain And as the time passes by, We learn and we grow in life, And deal with things as they occur, In all things and all walks of life! And one day in the future, You will look back on this, your past, And when you can look back with happiness, You've have finally won, at last! But as we walk that walk of hell, We have times when the sun will shine, And when you can look back at those times, Peace will surely be thine! But until the time comes to pass, That you can face each day with that pain, You have to stay strong and focused, And keep fighting, again and again! Because Sue, we learn to adjust, Even though you don't agree Trust me true, for I never lie One day you'll cope, like me! For the sun will always rise in the sky, And the sky will always be blue The birds will always whistle a tune, And there'll always be a star shining for you!
