Bora born

Ritual cleansing _

Smooth and round, the collection found
near the palm tree at the bottom of the garden.
For ten years hidden, under fern and lichen
waiting for the full moon tonight.

Blessed in water for 1000 years
then baked in fire of an earth oven.
Stored away, mostly hidden from light
cocooned under moisture and shadow.

Counted out, then tossed on the grass
with the neighbour nearby listening.
‘ Hello dear, what are you doing
don't see you down here very often.'

A mental plea to ethers about
why can't we all mind our own business.
This feeling though held
didn't last for that long
to slowly release from within him.

A windbreak formed for an expected breeze
the stones then counted
and  placed on the ground in a circle.
No spare space, to touch each other
birth stones to count out his years.

Then candles found, upstairs in the house
six of these would be needed.
White clothes laid out, for his return
from the 5 mile walk soon to be started.

On the walk into town, attention drawn
to the clouds patterned presence overhead.
Shapes back lit from the hidden light source
a hole to form as he watched it.

This river of starlight, flowed in from the east
where the full moon had risen.
Flooding the sky with each passing moment
pushing out expanding the centre.

The east wind split, to curve north and south
to rejoin in the troubled sky of the west.
No imagination needed
to realise in time, the master timekeeper
was doing some painting.

By the time he reached town
a miracle shone down
on all who looked skyward.
A shape had formed, as the starlight
shone through, the soul gateway
of the planet.

Highlighted by, reflected light
the full moon to the east veiled with meaning.
To form a heart with the wind from the west
pushing cloud to the centre of the opening.

Clothed in white, and soft candle light
inside the circle formed that evening.
With pages to burn, from the book just written
to complete the ritual cleansing.
