Don't Rush

When is it over?
How do you know?
Is it the way you say "I love You"?
Or the way that you let it show?
Many couples stay together
For years without trust
While their significant other
Goes out to explore their own lust
Why do we do it?
Put ourselves through such pain
Even though the love is gone
And there is nothing left to gain
We do it for our children
Our family and our friends
We try and pray for miracles
We see the positive message it sends
Marriage is a committment
Should not be taken light
Take some time, explore your feelings
Make sure your heart is right
Just because you have a child
Don't always mean you should wed
Just love and cherish your children
And make sure they all are fed
As long as mom and dad are there
To help bring the children up right
Take time to get to know each other
It will save you a painful, costly fight
