A Salute

Fourth of July 2004 and I sit forever more.  Waiting for the free show in the sky, I sit watching from my liana.  Sounds so loud and colors so bright, fill the air and sky at night.  Exploding thunder all around makes me wonder if I'm still on the ground.
Rockets and flares burst in the air leaving me without a care.  My awe is great as I sit in wait for the next display of colorful array.
A salute to my country that holds this tradition, I give you my love and an endearing rendition.  Keep Glory ringing and Freedom strong. Lady Liberty shine on and on.  America my homeland, you're sacred sand and forever in my heart your bounty is Grand.
