This Tops The Lot!We go through life and plod along, And we hit some highs then drop low… But we pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down, And focus on the path we have to go! Then something happens out of the blue, That causes a panic that won't subside, You go through hell and come back, Because you lived and never died! They tell me all the time you know, That there has been worse than this in my life, But that's what others think… They don't walk my walk, or have my strife. Just because I've had a rough ride, Doesn't mean this is any less than them, In fact, this is the worst I've ever had, And I can't go down that road again! You see, I had two brain tumours, And they who know me tell me true… That nothing can be worse than them! No matter what they had to do! And it's not that they don't care, But you see, I walk the walk, not them, It's just no-one understands, That I'd rather have had another tumour again! Nothing in my life has ever…ever! Been worse than the trial I faced this time, And no matter what - and no matter when, This is the hardest mountain to climb! And that was only the beginning, Not the end that it should have been, For that started me on a journey of hell, I shall tell you what I mean… In the past when I've got sick…! Into hospital I'd always go, Usually another operation… But I was never ruffled you know! Get in, get fixed, and get out go home, That was the routine I always had, But this came right out of the blue, And yes, this was really bad! And out of all the bad health I've had and got, There is nothing compared to this time, And no matter what - and no matter when, This is the hardest one to climb… And though it's a big high mountain, It makes no matter to me, you see, It's still the worst that can ever happen, For it took the strength from me! And now I have to face a future unsure, I don't know what the outcome will be, All I know for certain is… It's almost killed the fight in me! …We Shall See… Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
