 Penniluck's legacy

Loch Lomand

We strolled on the banks of Loch Lomand
We romped down a tree covered lane.
We found peace we found love we found laughter
A contentment no words can explain.
We watched the sun dance on the water
Like thousands of birds on tip-toe.
Entranced by the beauty before us
We didn`t talk, we just whispered low.
We gave both our hearts to Loch Lomand
We watched them get carried downstream
Lo and behold where our hearts fell
There was one heart where two hearts had been.
We carved out our names on a tree
The tallest and strongest around.
We watched in silent wonder
As a bird took our bread from the ground.
We laughed as you gave me a flower
From the first tree in blossom we saw.
We stood on the boat near Ben Lomand
And gazed at the mountain in awe.
We imagined the tip of the waves
To be half melted untouched snow.
We said the twin peaks of Ben Lomand
Were lovers from long long ago.
We walked to our spot by the tree trunk
In the shape of a dinasaurs head.
To the place where our little bird lived
He was ours, at least that`s what we said.
We sat there and watched as the sun set
Turning the ripples to gold.
Then sadly we whispered farewell
Like so many lovers of old.
