Gathering Flowers For The Surfer's Bouquet ©It's true i know entertainers are, just people like you and me. But some hold a special place in our heart, and on a pedestal they be! Jan Berry indeed was such, although struck down in his prime. He continued to be there for us, for he knew it was surfin time. I met this man so thankful for that, oh how he could entertain and charm. A tear fell then glancing at: the medic alert bracelet on his arm. So came the time you see, for one last wave. He was there in all his glory, and in a wheelchair so brave! Now if you'll excuse me while i cower, but i need to have a cry today. While i gather flowers, for the surfer's bouquet.... The wild surf ended for you and i, his 63rd birthday:just a week shy. He hung in there till 62 and what a ride he gave to me and you AND:+)'s oh so TRU!! Copyright ©2004~S@L Vote for this poem |
