My Oasis
Oh, just give me a sky of crystal blue
High above the sparkling sands,
Bring me that crisp and fragrant sea air,
as the sun shines upon my weary face.
Let me stroll along the beautiful beach
The waves rolling in over my feet,
As my mind clears and this glorious place
renews my ravaged heart and soul…
In this my oasis, let there not be thought of you.
For there is no place for you here-
Nor with me…
Those thoughts were but a dream…
That dream is over – and life begins again.
So I free my heart with the rolling tide
as it carries me away to a place fresh and new,
oh, how I've prayed to be finally free-
Wrap me up in my oasis and let me breathe.
